Can the movie Sex and the City 2 be enjoyed by someone who has never watched the show or seen the first movie?

I am planning on going with a friend to the movies and would like to see Sex and the City 2. However, my friend has never seen any of the TV episodes or the first movie. Would she be able to understand and enjoy this film?
